In order to honour new technical approaches in research and development for the wind energy industry, Germanischer Lloyd in cooperation with ForWind, the centre for wind energy research, is handing out awards for the best final theses. The "GL Wind Energy Award for Young Professionals 2009" will be given for the first time this year in Germany under the title "Innovative Ideas for Wind Energy". How can effective corrosion protection be provided at sea? - All of these questions are answered in theses for diplomas, bachelor's degrees or master's degrees or in student research projects.
Students or former students who were enrolled up to one year ago are entitled to participate in the award. Individual or team efforts of at least 30 pages may be submitted. The submission date is 31 December, 2009. The prize winners will be announced in March 2010.
